At the University of Maryland's Comptroller office, I work for physical inventory, plant accounting, general accounting, and accounts payable. As a student intern, I gained a lot of experience working in a traditional office environment. Because I worked for multiple departments, I was able to understand the importance of communication and time management between each department to ensure everything ran smoothly. As an intern, I validate account numbers and invoice amounts in Kuali Financial System (KFS) for capital projects. For the physical inventory department, I take physical inventory and review, update, and adjust asset information in KFS.

Student Teacher - September 2013 to May 2014
I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a student teacher for the Cantonese School of Greater Washington. At age 10, my parents enrolled me in Chinese School to learn the language and culture. For the first few years, I was annoyed to have to go to additional school to learn a language I already speak at home. However, at around age 17, I started to appreciate my parents decision to enroll me because it allowed me to feel more connected to my family members who do not speak English.
Every Sunday, I taught mini lessons and immersed the students in the Chinese language and culture. As a student teacher, my goal was to make their learning fun. Students engaged in educational games and arts and crafts, to make learning more interactive.

Brand Representative - June 2015 to January 2016
Working at Hollister Co. was my first customer service experience. As a brand representative, I worked with people from various backgrounds. My duties included locating extra merchandise, helping with size and styles of clothing items, and overseeing register activity. Working with other employees highlighted the importance of teamwork, patience, and confidence in a fast pace environment.
